International Day of Human Spaceflight 2025
On April 12, 1961, humans embarked on a groundbreaking adventure: human spaceflight. Yuri Gagarin launched aboard Vostok 1, achieving what was previously thought impossible: he became the first person to reach space and orbit the Earth. It opened new doors towards innovation and humanity's quest to reach for the stars for the benefit of all. Even today, we are motivated by this goal of reaching new limits and boundaries on behalf of humanity.
To commemorate this historic day, we celebrate the International Day of Human Spaceflight, established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2011. This celebration recognizes the profound impact that spaceflight and space science have on our goal of sustainability and innovation for the well-being of all nations here. Through spaceflight, we have achieved new advancements that benefit humanity, helping us become who we were meant to be on this planetβa civilization designed for exploration and innovation. It also helps us remember that viewing Earth from space makes us see no borders, symbolizing the need for cooperation between all of us.
Let us celebrate this day by making us remember how far spaceflight has come. Through the cooperation between places and nations, we have managed to strive for the betterment of humanity, which we hope will continue until this day despite our differences as humans. It will help us inspire future generations to look to the stars with curiosity and ambition for the betterment of all.
