26/8/2024, 13:39: - WELCOME!

Welcome to The Weekly Spaceman’s live coverage of the Polaris Dawn mission! This private spaceflight mission will push the boundaries of manned spaceflight and culminate in the first commercial EVA done in spaceflight history. Here on this page, you can see near-live updates and summaries of crucial events as those happen over this 5-day mission.

This flight will utilize Falcon 9 booster 1083 and Crew Dragon Resilience to loft the 4-person crew into a 1400km orbit. The crew will stay there for 3 days, conducting high-altitude research and studying the effect of these altitudes on the human body. This orbit will also mark the highest crewed Earth orbit, and the furthest humans have ever been from Earth since Apollo. Then, Resilience will put itself into a roughly 500km orbit, where mission commander Jared Isaacman will exit the spacecraft and perform the first commercial EVA with SpaceX’s brand-new EVA suit. After this, Resilience will splash down in the Gulf and, thus, will be the end of the mission - and our live coverage. However, that end is still a few days away, so enjoy our live coverage while this groundbreaking mission unfolds!
