Vulcan Certification Flight Two prelaunch details.
Tomorrow At Approximately ten o'clock UTC united launch alliance's Vulcan Centaur will lift off on its second certification flight. As a reminder the first flight launched on January 8th of this year with Astrobotics Peregrine lunar Lander.
The payload for this flight will be a mass simulator with sensors and inert experiments. Initially This was to be the first launch of Sierra spaces's Dream Chaser space plane. But due to testing delays it was moved to a later flight. This lunch will also certify the Vulcan Centaur to launch national security payloads for the US Space Force
The Vulcan Centaur will be launching in its VC2S where V stands for Vulcan C stands for Centaur and the xS stands for the number of solid rocket boosters. this configuration Includes 2 GEM63XL strap on boosters
It will be launching from space launch complex 41 which has been used to launch the previous mission and atlas v missions. this Mission will be launching eastward I to a heliocentric orbit. Heliocentric Meaning around the sun. The launch windows opens at 10am UTC and closes 1pm UTC.
